This was a joint studio conducted with N.A.S.A. The problem to be solved was how to propose an economically viable reason to build a space station. There are studies showing that seeds brought to space, exposed to unprotected UV rays and then replanted on Earth show a higher yield.
My proposal was to build a Low Earth Orbit Seed Vault and Lab with a hotel to to drive economic viability even further. The station would be made out of prefabricated shape memory alloys that would be electrified in space to take their programmed form. This is assuming that Nitinol technology has progressed much further. Designing for a space with no gravity was an unique opportunity to design a space that has no floor and no cieling.
