A quick design charette (5 days) for a competition called the Brooks Cavin Fellowship. I was shortlisted and chosen to present.
The Bolsa Chica Wetlands visitor’s center is centered around the concept of movement and direction, both in people and wildlife. There is an intrinsic conflict when building a building like this in an ecological preserve so rather than build against the natural landscape, the building will become a part of the ecological infrastructure. As you walk across the bridge from the parking lot to the estuary, your experience alternates between learning and application to give visitors an immersive experience of nature every time they visit.
