Squadra di Rialzo Art Mall

This was a project completed on a site in Florence, Italy. The project was to design a TOD (Transit Oriented Development) and high speed train stop near the existing Santa Maria Novella Train station in Florence as well as the planned Renzo Piano train shed.  At the site was an existing fashion museum.  The inspiration behind the design was in the pleat of clothing.  The entire building was designed as if the ground around it began to fold and pleat causing rises and falls in the building architecture allowing the creation of a diversity in public and private spaces.

The project was designed in collaboration with Italian architecture students at the Universita di Firenze.
